Selecting all members of a cognate set and merging it with another set is not easy

It is not easy in the “Edit Cognates” panel to select all members of a cognate set in order to merge it with another one. Even though the tutorial pdf states that “if you press on one representative of each of the three cognate sets shown in the previous figure, and then on combine, it will merge all cognate sets into one class”, I find the actual behavior of Edictor to be usually erratic. Sometimes it will do as indicated in the tutorial, but often it will create a new cognate set including only the selected items. It would be nice to have a separate tick box for each cognate set that effectively and consistently select all the members of that cognate set.

How many languages do you test with? Is it possible to share part of the file, to see what the problems are? It is a lot of clicking, but the question I am asking myself is if the current panel for editing is actually the best solution after all. For partial cognates, we have bulk editing available, it can of course also be used for full cognates, but one must declare them as "partial", yet what is the best solution is far from obvious to me.
