Extension Not Working: Stuck Jobs & Reinstall Error #3

Hello,

First of all, I must express my gratitude for such an incredible project – 4Cat is an out-of-this-world tool.
This extension dedicated to web studies was the cherry on top.

Unfortunately, I couldn’t find my way around it. I tried the automatic install, installed the cookies extension, and everything seemed fine. However, I didn’t notice that Selenium wasn’t appearing in the Settings area.

When I tried to create a dataset from the URL collector, the job got stuck indefinitely in the queue. I deleted the dataset, but the job stayed there.
I then tried the Screenshot generator, but it didn’t start because of the other job already in the queue.

I tried restarting 4Cat, but nothing happened.

When I tried to reinstall (to overwrite the previous installation), the message I got from the terminal was: “the folder extensions/webstudies is not empty, and it cannot be created” (or something like that – I’m currently without power, so I can’t reproduce the exact message). But I couldn’t find the extensions folder in the 4Cat root folder (neither in the backend nor the frontend).

Is there something I should try that I haven’t? Any thoughts on what could be happening?

Can you check the logs and let us know what they say? If you are using Docker, you will need to check both the container logs.

Click these:

And in the logs we are looking for information on startup to make sure that everything was installed correctly. Ideally you would see something like this in the backend:

Or it will mention that it was already installed. If that looks good, see if there are any other messages that look out of place. 4CAT will try to run failed datasets each time you restart and should provide some error message as to why they failed in the backend portion.
