We should revive/restore the good old remember me cookie solution as additional adapter for longer session duration where possible.
Maybe
https://github.com/cakephp/authentication/blob/3.x/src/Authenticator/CookieAuthenticator.php#L77-L78
can be ported, otherwise sth similar to
https://github.com/nojimage/cakephp-remember-me
