Limitation or missing know-how: Detecting multiple seasons using the Phenology Polar Metrics?

I have been using FORCE to create polar metrics over multiple years.

In my experience, these metrics appear to be most useful for natural areas or regions with a single phenological season. When dealing with managed areas or regions with complex phenology—where two or more seasons occur per year—the secondary seasons cannot be detected and the derived values do not make sense for obvious reasons.

Has anyone else experienced these same issue/limitation? Is there a workaround or a specific setting I have missed, or is this a fundamental limitation of the Polar Metrics module?

Hi @plritter,
I have a similar impression that only LC with relatively simple phenology work well with this method, though so far i did not get around to quantify it in any way, or compare with an alternative approach. Eyeballing, the method struggles in the Mediterranean regions, and i share your impression that the double-cropping is not detected correctly.
