To mitigate the risk of Author-Arbiter-Contractor collusion to defraud the backers, a period of time should be introduced after the parties are set but before the Contractor can sign, and during this time the backers who don't agree with the Author's choice of Contractor or Arbiter (or both) can withdraw their contributions from the project before they get locked in Escrow.
