Problem

#4816 is merged but need some tweaks for the UI. This issue is created to iterate the UI design.

Solution

Maybe move the warning for pruning from top case to the lump toolbar is a good idea?

Thanks for the recording, @Jazzcort ! Some pointers on the UI design that might be of use to you:

Warning 1

• A shorter warning text would be better. You could condense it down to something like: "Warning: context items are too large. Please reduce the context size or increase context length in the configuration."
• The single bullet point (Recommended Action: / * Open configuration file) doesn't look fantastic. If you could replace those two lines with a button ("Open Configuration"), that would be better.

Warning 2

• Personally I would be tempted to replace the colored dot with an error icon, just because it would communicate more meaning.
• Technically, "Chat" shouldn't be capitalized - it's not the start of a new sentence.
• Like with the previous example I would be tempted replace the Recommended Action: / * Start a new session text with a button ("Start New Session").

Thanks for the feedback, @allanday — I agree that showing an error icon would make things clearer for users.

@RomneyDa, do you have any thoughts from the upstream side regarding the UI? For example, does the current placement of the warnings/errors look okay to you, or would you prefer moving them elsewhere (e.g., placing the pruning-from-top warning on the lump bar)?

I’m aware that the jetbrains-test is still persistently failing, so #4816 hasn’t been merged yet. Once that issue is resolved, we can continue iterating on the UI details.

@allanday Here is the newest tweak - #6668. Do you have any feed back on this? Or, if it looks good to you, we can close this issue when this PR gets merged
