These tools assume you're going to be downloading Wikipedia builds and only Wikipedia builds. When attempting to use this for, say, Wikiquote, things get weird:

  • Autodetecting languages doesn't work, requiring the user to set an (undocumented) variable in the libraries
  • Metadata for the database itself is wrong, listing it as "wikipedia" without any further information

Making these tools more generic, either by better autodetection or by allowing user metadata overrides, would increase the usefulness of WikipOff.
