Build steps in README lead to an error

I'm using build2 from brew, which is currently at 0.17.0

When attempting to build according to the README, the following error occurs in the bdep init @host -d odb step:

Error: Unable to satisfy constraint (build2 >= 0.18.0-) for package cli

Info: The available build2 version is 0.17.0

However, when I check the build2 website, the latest stable version I can find is 0.17.0; 0.18.0- is marked as staged version

Can you please provide instructions for building odb using stable versions? Or is using the staged version of build2 is the only way to build odb?

You should be able to build the latest release ( https://github.com/codesynthesis-com/odb/releases/tag/v2.5.0) with build2 0.17.0. For the development version of ODB (current master) we have upgraded to the 0.18.0 pre-release (it will be released as stable in a month or so, before the next version of ODB).

I suspect the problem is in cloning the HEADs of cli, libstudxml and libcutl dependencies, what am I doing wrong?

Yes, the dependencies are the issue (cli specifically, the others should not be a problem). We should have fixed their versions upon the release (filed #24 for that).

Try this:

bdep init @host -d odb ?cli/1.2.0
