The library https://github.com/javakeyring/java-keyring provides access to all OS specific default password stores. It should be possible to integrate that as master source.

Is it possible from a license perspective to use this from ASF software: https://github.com/javakeyring/java-keyring?tab=License-1-ov-file#readme?

Update: Seems the BSD derivates fall into category A from https://www.apache.org/legal/resolved.html.
