A number of updates are due to README, especially in light of the fact that there are no longer TOC Contributors.

Some intentions that do not seem to currently be happening:

Every CNCF project will be assigned to one suitable TAG by the TOC.

(relevant now in the allocation of Sandbox projects; this could be documented in the Landscape or docs/projects.md)

Important: Each TAG is supported by a named member of the CNCF executive staff who is accountable for liaison with the CNCF Executive Director, plus communication and performance of the TAG, with quarterly and annual reporting to Governing Board & TOC.

That's what's currently happening with the Sandbox Annual Reviews, not sure what else needs to be updated here?

I was discussing this with Emily and she asked me to document in an issue.

It needs a sweep through to check it's up to date. For example;

TAG has three co-chairs, who are TOC Contributors, recognized as experts in that area, and for their ability to co-lead the TAG to produce the required unbiased outputs.

There is no such thing as a TOC Contributor any more. Now that role is being pushed into TAGs, it may also benefit from being more clearly defined what it means to be a TAG contributor.

This is intended to track updates to this file as it has not been updated in a some time to reflect the current activities, roles, and structure the TOC has defined.

@Riaankl would you take a look and verify the cncf-tags.md is up to date with the recent changes/approvals to chairs and leads? As part of your work with updating the templates for charters and readmes, it may be worthwhile to later consider what changes need made to the repo to make this information more discoverable. For now though, lets make sure this file is up to date and we can close this issue.

@craigbox as part of the TAG Clean-up we have swapped out the cncf-tags.md file with the README.
So that make this issue title incorrect.
I agree the README (was cncf-tag.md) need to be reviewed. I assigned this issue to me and will get to it soon.
