imenu will not populate

Expected behavior

imenu entries are equivalent to clojure-mode imenu and lists functions

Actual behavior

imenu shows only "Namespace/anonymous" and no functions

Steps to reproduce the problem

In a Clojure buffer, activate clojure-ts-mode

inspect imenu entries
M-x imenu

Most likely you have the wrong grammar installed. clojure-ts-mode uses unstable grammar now. Please try to re-install the grammar using clojure-ts-reinstall-grammars command and restart Emacs.

@rrudakov unfortunately that did not help, I am experiencing the same behavior even after emptying my ~/.config/emacs directory and tried with a fresh install of only the clojure-ts-mode installed.

I cannot reproduce it. I tried to install Emacs 30.2. I tried to install the old grammar (it is actually being upgraded automatically by clojure-ts-mode unless clojure-ts-ensure-grammars is set to nil). imenu always works for me.

Could you please check the value of treesit-simple-imenu-settings variable in the problematic Clojure buffer with clojure-ts-mode enabled? C-h v treesit-simple-imenu-settings.

Could you also run M-x treesit-explore-mode in the clojure-ts-mode buffer and attach the screenshot with the syntax tree? (If it asks for a language, please select clojure)

@rrudakov If you're not experiencing it I'm suspecting it's something with my config or environment. The explore mode isn't empty and seems to be what yours reflects.

@rrudakov this can be closed, reverting to a different build of Emacs resolved the issue. Thank you for the assistance

Could you please tell how do you install Emacs on MacOS, so I could try to reproduce it. I use emacs-plus on MacOS and I didn't have this problem even with version 30.2.

I've installed Emacs 30.2 from emacsformacos.com. I see a couple of weird things. The syntax tree looks weird:

When I call imenu, I don't get the same "Anonymous" item, but I only have 1 function greet available even if I have more in the buffer:

I also noticed that markdown syntax highlighting is not working in the docstrings, when I opened the first Clojure file after installing clojure-ts-mode I got the following warning:

⛔ Warning (treesit): The installed language grammar for markdown-inline cannot be located or has problems (version-mismatch): 15

After restarting Emacs everything seems to be working fine, both markdown syntax highlighting and imenu. But the syntax tree still looks weird, I can see that the grammar version is correct because there are str_content nodes, that are only available in the unstable grammar.

I also tried brew install emacs (the one that 95% of the users have by default) and the problem is not reproducible there. Syntax tree looks normal and imenu works fine, so it's something with Emacs build from emacsformacos.org I guess:
