The changes in 6.6.0 which introduce the functionality to easily retrieve an image in a specified format, could be used to increase CPU load and take up space on disk.

An attacker could scrape darkroom URLs and make multiple requests to these URLs with different extensions, causing darkroom to process the images into these different formats.

5 years on and this has never been a problem.
