No need to install the main dependencies. Could even install only Ruff, but that might require breaking sync with the lock file if it exists or moving Ruff to its own dependency group.

Are you sure it doesn't inspect upstream Apis? Surely it will once red knot is more utilized right?

Setting aside Red Knot entirely, I don't believe Ruff does any actual inspection of the code typing/functionality?
