It would be nice when you created a new recipe you were given a pop-up menu option to choose either and single infusion mash or a step mash (Radio Button), as well as how many additions go into the recipe (1, 2, 3 or 4). Once those selections are made have the machine step’s automatically created for the recipe and customize from there. For bonus points, it would be nice to also ask if you want a whirlpool or circulate step (Yes or No) at the end of the boil.

you have full flexibility to do whatever you want as is - all the steps are just time/temp/location. not sure why you can't just add/remove rows at your leisure
@Goodgrapes if you take a look at crafter.pilotbatchbrewing.com these options are more or less available there. This online crafter also allows you to pull a beerxml and convert for use with this local server solution through "syncing" via a network device that has access to both the internet AND your local Picobrew server (such as a RaspberryPi).
