I think the current bindings are fixed based on the readme and playing around with the exe.
Is that true?

Good for those of us who use a custom keyboard layout.

Yes, keymaps are now fixed according to Helix's defaults https://docs.helix-editor.com/keymap.html
Do you have custom key remapping configured in your Helix IDE config (~/.config/helix/config.toml, [keys.normal] section)?

Could you share what kind of remapping you use? For example:

• swapped movement keys (e.g. Colemak/Dvorak layout adjustments)
• remapped specific commands to different keys
• custom minor mode bindings (under g, m, etc.)

This would help to design the right solution.

I have it mostly default, but I too have remapped Helix's movement keys and a few commands conflicting with these keys to different positions because I use the Semimak-JQ keyboard layout.
