"Programmer's Elbow" from Brewing Classic Styles. I'm doing the all-grain version. I brewed this once before about a year ago. The brew shop didn't have London ESB yeast, so I went with S-04 this time around.
Grain bill:
- 12.25 lbs English pale
- 0.5 lb Crystal 15 (brew store doesn't have 15, so I used half 10 and half 20)
- 0.25 lb Crystal 120
Mash & Boil:
- Mash at 152 F for 60 minutes
- Boil 60 minutes
Boil additions:
- 2 oz. Kent Goldings (60 min)
- 1 oz. Kent Goldings (0 min)
Fermenter additions:
- 2 packets Safale S-04
- Base malt: $16
- Specialty grain: $1.13
- Yeast: $6.10
- Hops: $6.06
- Total: $29.29
- Mash with 19 qts
- Sparge with 7 gallons between mashout and the HLT (lost a couple quarters in HLT dead space)
- Boil volume: about 8.5 gallons
- OG: 1.063
- Just under 5 gallons into the fermenter
- Fermented in bucket #3
- FG: 1.010
- 7.0% ABV
- 42 12-ounce bottles
- Primed with 4 oz corn sugar
- Used CHAOS bottling bucket #1
