A Robotic Commentator

Hi all,

Thought I'd share a robotic commentator, using OpenF1 data: https://huggingface.co/spaces/d10g/f1commentator

It pulls in all the data available for a specific session, builds a narrative (technical, performance, excitement, etc.) based on overtakes, pits, incidents, etc. and then builds a commentary that is then spoken by the robot using ElevenLabs.

You can also interrogate the robot in realtime (e.g. "Hey Reachy, has Hamilton pitted yet?") - and my next goal is to think about how this would work with a realtime data feed.

Would be great to hear any thoughts and feedback on how it could be made a bit more fun.

Awesome project, how/can it be setup to run on local TTS models?

It shouldn't be too difficult to do. It uses the ElevenLabs API at the moment, using some of their emotion tags, but it shouldn't be too hard to abstract that to use a different model/API. Was there a specific model you had in mind? I can try to give it a test.
