Finish docstrings

The following modules need significant documentation (in order of importance):

• local array
• spark array
• shapes
• stack
• swapper
• utils

Updated the checklist--- Is the only thing left the spark array? Is local array completely done?

@cstich Great to have you on board! one thing to be aware of: we've been thinking about doing a serious refactoring of the code to completely remove the local version of the array (which we haven't really been supporting for a while now anyway). Might be good to hold off on any major documentation work until we see where everything lands.
