Hi all,

I had trouble finding the group id and after finally finding it i wrote a guide.
Is there an easier way to find a group id?
Assuming this is the right process, where can i publish it so others can find and use it?

How to Find the Signal Group Id

If you want to send a message to a Signal Group, you need the Signal Group Id. This Id is not as easy to find as one would think, and it's not readily available in the Signal App or other obvious places. However, you can follow these steps to retrieve it:

Prerequisites:

• The Signal App is installed and running on your phone.
• You are already a member of the Signal Group.

Steps:

1. Start by running the Signal Rest API Docker Container on your computer. This container provides access to the Signal API.
2. Link your phone to the Signal API Docker Container to establish communication between the API and your phone.
3. Call the API receive endpoint using the Signal Rest API Docker Container. This allows you to receive messages through the API.
4. Send a message to the desired Signal Group from your phone using the Signal App.
5. Wait for the response on the API receive endpoint you called in step 3.
6. The API response will contain your message with the Group Id attached to it.
7. Optional: If you want to send a message to this group id, you must encode64 it first. See How do I get the group ID? AsamK/signal-cli#1196
