How does the library deal with wildcards in terms? The term() function seems to escape them, which is not intended.

I believe you can just pass in the string without wrapping it in term().

This issue makes very clear that I'm not very familiar with the lucene query language.

If you are a dev that is looking to improve the lib without maintaining the lib; then now is your chance to help out!
