confusion on whether I need the claude code plugin for plannotator

I notice whenever I run the plannotator update command, it now installs skills/commands directly into ~/.claude folder. Does this mean I can uninstall the plugin? Mostly I ask b/c it's annoying to have to keep updating the plugin (which doesnt change at the same pace as the main plannotator package) and it sure seems like it might not be needed anymore. I guess I still need it for the hook? But then why is the update command installing commands in ~/.claude?

The plugin installs both commands and a hook:

Commands (2)

• plannotator-annotate — opens the interactive annotation UI for a markdown file, then tells Claude to address the feedback
• plannotator-review — opens the interactive code review UI for current changes, then tells Claude to address the feedback

Hook (1)

• Fires on ExitPlanMode (via PermissionRequest matcher) — automatically runs plannotator when you exit plan mode, so you get the annotation UI on your plan without having to invoke it manually

So what about the ~/.claude/commands/ files?

Those are separate from the plugin. You have three commands there (plannotator-annotate, plannotator-review, plannotator-last), which overlap with the two the plugin provides. The plugin doesn't install plannotator-last — that one only exists in your user
commands. The plannotator-annotate and plannotator-review exist in both places, which means you effectively have duplicates of those two.

Maybe the plugin should stop installing commands since your installer now installs them locally?

I will clean this up - the install script I think ends up being more reliable and I can do all things from there.

Right now the hook gets installed from the plugin. Most important for plan mode integration
