Here is an update suggestion based on the TUXEDO package.

  • Fixes build failure when updating alongside a new kernel version;
  • Based upon the TUXEDO package: they do a great job supporting recent kernels;
  • Automatic ASPM enablement based on rules inherited from TUXEDO build system.

Since this ebuild suggestion is very dependent on TUXEDO build, would you prefer putting it in a separate ebuild named after tuxedo-yt6801? This package should work on non TUXEDO computers though.

Considering that motorcomm has dropped the source package for .30, and the .31 one is much more difficult to download directly, it might be best to retire this ebuild and replace it with a tuxedo-yt6801 one instead

I agree.
I will prepare a separate tuxedo-yt6801 ebuild then.

BTW, the upstream .31 from motorcomm can be downloaded from https://en.motor-comm.com/Public/Uploads/uploadfile/files/20251217/yt6801-linux-driver-1.0.31.zip. The URL is guessed from the date shown on the download web page.

I'd skip creating the -r1 ebuild, the source doesn't exist anymore so I'm probably just going to remove it instead.

This reverts commit fcc55e8.

1.0.30 upstream archive is not reachable anymore.

Thanks, and sorry for being so glacially slow around this

No problem! Glad to have contributed to this package. It could eventually be good to push it to GURU to enhance Gentoo support on TUXEDO. Maybe later.
