Right now deploying a velox cluster is mostly automated, but there are a lot of assumptions about the deployment environment baked into the system. We should explore some ways to make deploying and starting a velox cluster as single click/single command as possible. I will start with exploring whether Docker will help with this at all.

Another component of smoothing out the deployment process is making sure that we have appropriate default AMIs to work with different instance types. I believe the default AMI right now only works with the r3.* series of instances (which is not documented in the deployment code).
