add onexit cleanup to dp_init

Desired behavior:

• if dpinit fails, the state (wd + content created) revert back to pre dpinit state

Current behavior:

• state remains where disruption happened (i.e. we could have change in wd and a folder gets created)

NOTE: cleanup itself could run into a problem in which case we can warn and exit
