Thanks for the input! Yes, I just solved this issue earlier today, but it hasn't hit F-Droid yet. I do really appreciate input though, it helps me make better apps.

Leaving open so others will see that it is fixed. After version 1.9, you can scroll the screen to center the board in landscape mode.
