The OASF Skill and Domain taxonomies were authored before there was real data on the kinds of records that would populate a directory. The agntcy/dir import workflow now pulls hundreds of MCP servers and agent skills from major vendors, and the majority are IT / software / cloud / AI related. The current taxonomy is too coarse in exactly these areas, so records cannot be classified or searched precisely.
By analyzing sources the import workflow uses (https://github.com/agntcy/dir/blob/main/.github/workflows/scripts/import-records.json), new categories and leaves could be identified and added to the OASF skill and domain taxonomy.
