## <a id='overview'></a> Overview

[AppDynamics Platform Monitoring for VMware Tanzu (VMware Tanzu)](https://network.pivotal.io/products/p-appdynamics/)
provides visibility into the VMware Tanzu platform where your AppDynamics-monitored applications are deployed.
The tile deploys a Firehose Nozzle that collects various KPI metrics and publishes them to a controller.
It also deploys a Dashboard App that automatically creates KPI health rules and custom dashboards associated
with the health rules, which can be used to monitor the health and capacity of one or more VMware Tanzu foundations.

<strong>WARNING:</strong>
When upgrading from a 4.x tile to 5.x tile, there are new tile fields under <strong>AppDynamics Nozzle Configuration</strong>. These new 5.x tile fields must be completed before the upgrade can be performed. These 5.x tiles fields enable the authentication for HTTP-based communication with the loggregator.
