These changes have not been integrated into SDCC's main branch

Do you have a link to any discussion about merging your work? I'm curious why thay haven't integrated it so far.

Hi Mark, The changes broke a few things on non-STM backends. Back when I wrote these changes over 5 years ago, I was not focusing on backwards compatibility because I just wanted to show a proof-of-concept.
