!play where do sound files go

I have tried putting sound files everywhere but I cannot seem to play them with !play and no error pops up apart from in the console where it fails to load sound

You need to have them as a VPK, Which you can extract from the source SDK folders. Then you would put them into your server's "Sound" folder.
