Next Steps for Completing OSH Review Paper

We are super close to getting a full working draft of the OSH Review Paper, so I figured I would make a tentative schedule to wrap up it up!

By the EOD (or early monday), @sarah114tran and @lindseysschwartz need to:

• Complete synthesis of lit. in the discussion paper -- take only 1 hour to do this task
• Create list for future research directions and respond to this issue with those directions-- some of these were brainstormed during meeting but will need to be more refined -- take only 1 hour to do this task
• In the form of comments, ask what you want out of peer-review. That is, comment on any areas that you need help clarifying, are confused on, or any other general requests. This will also indicate that you are done with your section and ready for review :)
• resolve any comments that you have left for yourself

By Monday EOD, @sarah114tran, @lindseysschwartz , and @nniiicc need to:

• Read the entire paper though and leave feedback in the form or comments. Feedback should be primary be focused on clarity of the explanation of ideas, pointing out areas that need further elaboration, or missing ideas.

By Wednesday EOD, @sarah114tran, @lindseysschwartz , and optionally @nniiicc need to:

• integrate in all feedback

By Thursday EOD, @sarah114tran, @lindseysschwartz , and @nniiicc need to:

• Take final pass of paper and mark any areas that need to be revised

Ideas for future directions:

1. Open Source Software in Education: A Systematic Mapping Study -- Identifies 676 paper on the topic of OSH in education, which may indicate that education is one of primary areas where hardware is developed and used. These researchers additionally conclude that there is little empirical research in this body of literature. Future work can empirically evaluate how and when OSH is used in education and the value it produces, both to students and educators.
2. Some of the databases used in the included papers are Things verse, Careables, Welder.App, OpenRov, and UltiMaker -- these repositories are focused on specific type of hardware or specific way it is made (3d-printers). Future work can use repositories (i.e OSHWA) that include a diverse range of project types.
