forDem aims to offer all the core functionalities of an e-democracy platform including Networking (sociopolitical), Deliberation (chat, discussion), Participation (all major voting systems), plus onion-routing and Peer-to-Peer modes of functionality for the times internet is censored or connections are unsafe.

forDem is being developed by the IT department of TCF e.V., a non-governmental, non-profit, and heterarchical civic lab registered in Germany under VR: 725308.
