The availability of ViewTouch source code at GitHub is intended 1) for the benefit of those who are clients and customers of Gene Mosher and 2) for the benefit of developers who are working with Gene.

ViewTouch is a complete restaurant point of sale solution based on Linux, Debian, The X Window System and Xfce. It allows multiple touchscreen terminals using the remote display capabilities (i.e., network transparency) of The X Window System. Android tablets can be used as mobile Point of Sale display terminals by installing the ViewTouch X Server apk which is available for downloading from http://www.viewtouch.com/download.html

ViewTouch is not simply point of sale code; it is also a Window Manager and an integral Graphics Toolkit which contains all of the features needed to complete any Point of Sale menu and table layout. A ViewTouch Graphics Starter Fileset is available at http://www.viewtouch.com/vt_updates.

ViewTouch makes use of the bitmapped X11 100 dpi fonts which are found in the xfonts-base package.
