Episeer causing jellyfin to freeze

I have episeer and jellyfin both running and i have noticed that when both run it causes jellyfin to slow down , freezes and lags is there any way to overcome this ? Want to keep both running together

I myself built this for Plex but added jellyfin support however jellyfin doesn't have a 3rd part app like tautulli that makes it easier for episeer. Episeer should even touch you server. The issue is probably jf sending constant webhooks and then episeer polling jf for progress. Best you can do is only have the jf send webhook on playback stop and no polling in episeer. Then the only handshake is after you stop a program.

Yes you correctly identified the problem which is the polling constant webhooks sent by jf , there is another tool called streamystats its like tatauli for jellyfin maybe that can help

Unless it can be setup to send a webhook or some kind of notification at a specific point then it won't help. You can either se jellyfin to only send at start or stop and live with it triggering once you start a show or once you stop a show

Spoke with the streamystats dev he is ready to implement the webhook this was his reply “ Yeah I mean it’s totally possible. We don’t specifically track episode watch percentage now, but rather total watchtime of an item. But it’s fully possible to implement. Then as soon as a user watches an item >50% we send a POST request to Episeerr.”

Nothing I need to do. that's up to him. Webhook just need to provide the show info and progress and be able to trigger at a set %. Tautulli has a setting that users can set a percentage to be considered as watched. Then a webhook can be setup to trigger when episode watched is reached.

Curious as to why it's slowing down your server, what are your polling settings? Don't use real time. Just set jf webhook to trigger when show starts and the polling 15 minutes. Then episeer just check every 15 min and stops when hits your threshold
