In the case we get too many signups, i.e. there's not enough space at the pool club or we have to cater for the limitations of covid alert level restrictions. I'd say we need a way to be able to limit the number of available spaces - not saying we'll ever have to use it regularly, just something good to have.
Describe the solution you'd like
A way to limit online signups for an event. Then possibly have a waitlist for overflow. i.e if a person try to sign up online and our capacity is over the limit we set, give them a notification saying that they are on the waitlist, and that they may be informed if a spot opens up. At the same time, we need a way to deal with walk-ins at the same time. i.e a person my bring a +1 on the day who hasn't signed up, but if we have a waitlist. we need a way to unfortunately add the +1 to the sign ins list, but not trigger the notification to the person at the top of the waitlist. Kinda unfair, but what can you really do, can't really just say no to the +1 on the day.
