[FEAT] Improve Empty States Across Dashboard Widgets
Problem Statement
Currently, dashboard widgets with no available data may appear empty or provide minimal feedback to users. This can create a confusing experience, especially for new users who have recently joined the platform or have limited GitHub activity.
Improving empty states can help users better understand the purpose of each widget, guide them toward setup actions, and make the dashboard feel more engaging and user-friendly.
I would like to work on this issue under GSSoC.
Proposed Solution
Design and implement informative empty states for dashboard widgets that do not have sufficient data to display.
Possible improvements include:
- Friendly messages explaining why no data is available
- Helpful onboarding tips or setup instructions
- Relevant icons or illustrations
- Call-to-action buttons where applicable
- Consistent styling across all dashboard widgets
Feature Area
Dashboard / UI-UX
Alternatives Considered
Leaving widgets blank or displaying generic "No data available" messages. However, enhanced empty states provide a better user experience and help users understand how to interact with the platform.
Acceptance Criteria
Additional Context
Good empty states can improve onboarding, reduce user confusion, and create a more polished dashboard experience, especially for first-time users.
