The National Interagency Fire Council (NIFC) is reorganizing their fire layers. Issue #194 will resolve fire layers to their current status as of June 24, 2022, but NIFC plans to update their layers in the future.
In issue #194, that layer will be marked as "2021 Wildland Fire Perimeters". In the future, that layer will presumably continue more years. There may be updates to other layers as well.
This is an issue for the future.
