As an admin, do /ews toggleEditMode <identifier of the arena>
When you're in the arena world, do /gamerule doImmediateRespawn true
Exit edit mode using the first command again.
Test if it works now.

Self note; add gamerule "doImmediateRespawn=true" to WorldController

The problem is spigot's death, it doesn't work in bedrock players. It's the solution if the number reaches health 0 instead of the death event, it returns health.
