Sorry that I am just answering right now, I only recently read your message. Thank you for sharing the two links on IRC, I read them. I have been very out of touch with the modding world recently. I am not really sure how much of an issue these changes are for us. I guess opting out of third-party downloads is just going to inconvenience users.

We should probably find someone who can jappa-fy the textures for the mod, as well as possibly looking into making a fabric port as well, given that fabric has grown massively in popularity since I last spoke to you.

Yes, I have heard about Fabric. Since I am programming the mod from scratch for 1.18, I think it makes sense for me to do it in Fabric.

Me and Sun know Fabric, either Sun can work on a port or me and Sun could work on it together as I originally came to the Discord to discuss making a port, that's up to you and Sun though

Yes it would be great if you guys could work on that. Is the code that I have so far for Forge 1.18 helpful?

One particular reason that I contemplated Fabric was that Forge apparently has no equivalent of Fabric's ModelResourceProvider, which we would need for flattened Totem base/pole blocks.
