This is the space for conversations that don't fit neatly into an issue or a PR.

StrayMark is a framework + CLI for the cognitive discipline that AI-assisted engineering work needs — explicit scope, declared decisions, named risks, recorded alternatives. The product takes a strong stance on what it is and what it isn't (see DESIGN-PRINCIPLES.md, especially principles #1, #6, and #10). Discussions is where the conversation around that stance happens.

What belongs here

• 💡 Ideas & proposals — "what if StrayMark did X" before it becomes a feature request.
• 🙋 Questions — about the framework, the CLI, the Charter pattern, adoption flows, or how the pieces fit together.
• 🛠️ Show & tell — how you're using StrayMark on a real project, what worked, what didn't. The product matures from this kind of evidence (Principle feat: add devtrail repair command to restore broken structure #12: velocity = velocity of learning).
• 🧭 Feedback on direction — roadmap, priorities, missing pieces. Maintainers read everything, even if not every thread gets a reply.

What belongs in Issues instead

• 🐛 Bugs that are reproducible (straymark X does Y when it should do Z).
• 📋 Feature requests with a clear shape (you know what you want, you just want it tracked).
• 🔒 Security reports — please email pepemontfort@gmail.com instead of opening a public issue.

Community norms

The primary user is the senior engineer orchestrating AI agents on a serious project (Principle #2). Threads written for that audience get the best engagement: concrete examples, named tradeoffs, honest about limits. Avoid: generic "this is great" comments, vague "make it faster" requests without context, or AI-generated content that doesn't reflect your actual experience using the tool.

We're open-minded but opinionated. Disagreement is welcome when it comes with substance.
