Description:
Configure GitHub Sponsors for the Fluid project to accept funding from the community.

Requirements and Context:
Sustainable open-source requires funding. GitHub Sponsors is the lowest-friction way to accept donations from developers and companies.

Acceptance Criteria:

  • .github/FUNDING.yml created with GitHub Sponsors and other accepted platforms
  • GitHub Sponsors profile set up with project description and tiers
  • Sponsors acknowledged in README with a Sponsors section
  • Monthly usage of sponsor funds reported in the transparency report

Deliverables:

  • Implementation of the above criteria
  • Tests or proof of correct behaviour

NOTE: This issue will NOT be reviewed or approved without evidence (screenshot, log, or test output) demonstrating the feature works as described.

Suggested Execution:

  1. Enable GitHub Sponsors via the repository settings
  2. Create sponsor tiers (Supporter, Bronze, Silver, Gold)
  3. Add the Sponsor button and acknowledgement section to README

Guidelines:

  • Follow the existing project coding conventions
  • All new environment variables must be documented in .env.example
  • Phase: Phase 15: Community
