🌌 Aether Cognition Debugger — Pre-Release Verification Checklist

This pre-release verification checklist ensures that Aether remains stable, lightweight, type-safe, and fully production-ready before any open-source release, VSCode extension package, or Hugging Face Space deployment.

📋 Checklist Verification Results

1. 🧼 Clean Environment

  • Verified that port 8000 (FastAPI backend) and port 3000 (Next.js frontend) are fully clean and free from orphan process locks.
  • Result: lsof -i :8000 & lsof -i :3000 successfully return clean.

2. 🛡️ Absolute Type-Safety & Code Purity

  • Eliminated all TypeScript type compiler errors across custom layout engines, reactflow nodes, stores, and websocket hooks.
  • Corrected React 19 linter compiler purity errors:
    • Ref Purity: Fixed render-time impure state derivation. Initialized the system session stopwatch inside useEffect post-mount to satisfy idempotent rendering rules.
    • Ref Render Purity: Resolved WebSocket state ref access during renders by referencing synchronized Zustand store values instead.
    • Dead-Zone Loops: Designed connectRef mutable handlers to perfectly avoid Temporal Dead Zone errors during recursive connection triggers.
  • Result: npx tsc --noEmit && npm run lint passes with 0 errors and 0 warnings!

3. 🏗️ High-Performance Production Build

  • Next.js production compile, bundle optimization, and static analysis completed flawlessly.
  • Result: npm run build succeeds completely in less than 3 seconds with no memory spikes.

4. 🐍 Python SDK Integration

  • Shipped type declarations and packaged requirements.txt containing pinned requests and websocket-client packages.
  • Result: SDK executes with perfect trace transmissions to the FastAPI websocket listener.

5. 🎞️ High-Fidelity Session Traces

  • Loaded, verified, and parsed three interactive cognition demo traces:
    1. simple_reasoning.json (Chain-of-Thought agent)
    2. tool_agent.json (Agent calling multiple APIs)
    3. hallucination_repair.json (Hallucination detection + automatic correction)
  • Result: JSON schema parse checks return 100% valid.

6. 🌐 Live Cognition Debugging & UI Polish

  • Replay Reset Fix: Resolved a visual defect where hitting "Restart" inside an active session would incorrectly trigger the full-screen landing page cover. Changed render visibility from empty node lists to active session state presence.
  • Graph Detail Inspection: Enabled interactive node detail toggling. Clicking on nodes dynamically slides in nested metadata, tool latency outputs, and token counts.

To execute the local environment verification:
