Basic Columns

A basic column is used for the standard representation of the value type. For example, it shows string values as text and numeric values as numbers. You can add multiple basic columns at a time by selecting more than one value in the Columns field. To find the desired value more easily, you can filter the list of available options by typing in a few characters of the desired value name.

Adding a Basic Column

To add a basic column to a table in a section, perform the following steps in the Page Editor:

1. Click the ➕ (Add) icon next to the Columns node.

2. Click Add Basic Columns .

3. Select columns in the Columns dropdown.

4. Click Add.

   Note:

   You cannot add the column based on the same value twice into the table.

Column properties can be configured in the Property Panel. Here are some examples:

• Label
• Importance
• Text and Text Arrangement (for all value types except Boolean)
• Display Type (for string values)
• Criticality and Criticality Representation (for string and numeric values)
• Measures and Currencies (for numeric values)

Moving a Basic Column

To move a column within a table, use one of the following options:

• Drag-and-drop

  Hover over the table column outline, press and hold the mouse button while moving the mouse pointer to the different position within the table. Release the mouse button at the desired position. Eligible positions are highlighted in green.

  With drag-and-drop, you can move multiple columns at once by pressing [CTRL] + [+] .

• Arrow buttons

  Press the (Move Up) or (Move Down) button next to the column name. This option only moves one column at a time.

Deleting a Basic Column

To delete a column in the application, perform the following steps:

1. Navigate to a column.
2. Click the 🗑️ (Delete) icon to open the Delete Confirmation popup window.
3. Click Delete to confirm the action.

Maintaining Basic Column Properties

In addition to the column properties available for all column types, you can define the following properties specific to the basic fields:

• Criticality

• Display as Image

• Display Type

  • Define how the field is represented in create or edit mode. Available options depend on the value type. For most value types, you can define value help if the service metadata contains entities with a list of eligible options. String values can also be represented as a text area.

• Hide by Property

• Measures and Currencies

• Restrictions

  • Define whether the input field in create or edit mode is mandatory, optional, or read-only. Depending on the field configuration, some options might not be available. For example, values generated by the system are always read-only.

• Text

• Text Arrangement

• Semantic Object Name

• Semantic Object Property Mapping
