how can i make it work on raspberry pi zero 2w or is there a version for it?

try the version on the download page of kali linux.
that one should work for the newer v. 2.
EDIT: the image kali linux provides is the old original...maybe it does not work on v2. it barely works on v1.
but use "Belina Etcher" for burning the SD if you use windows.
the .xz format of the Image is not the same as .img.
Win32diskImager will make a micro sd that cant boot as a result. (it does not auto change the file format)
