A question regarding the board voltage of the elec_RPI_Robot_HAT #13
|
I measured the voltage at J13 and J14 on the elec_RPI_Robot_HAT and found it to be 8V, but the motor's rated voltage is 5V. Will connecting it burn out the motor? |

Hello @yishuifengxing, This is completely normal! We run the motors at 8V even if the rated voltage is lower. It won't burn them out, but you do need to configure them as explained in the 1. Motor Setup section of the Assembly Guide. Specifically, you need to set the Shutdown entry to 52 (removing "Bit 0 Input voltage error") to prevent the motor from going into safe mode. Good luck with building the robot! |

Hello, thank you for your reply. I have another question: is there a specific order for connecting to J13 and J14 on the RPi HAT? For instance, if I connect a 1-to-2 splitter cable to J13 and a 1-to-3 splitter cable to J14, does the order matter, or can they be connected in any configuration? |
