Removing Note - Is it implemented?

Apologies for the barrage of question. Another one and hopefully the last :)

As part of my script I am hoping to:

• find the relevant note, and
• edit specific lines in the note using pre-determined rules

Looking through the documentation, I can't seem to find the ability to either edit the note in place, or the ability to delete an old post (which will allow me to perform the same function by creating a new, edited post and delete the old post).

May I confirm that these features are indeed not part of MacNotesApp? Is it the intrinsic limitation of AppleScript interaction with the Apple Notes?

Deleting notes is not implemented in MacNotesApp. It is supported by AppleScript so could be implemented. I'll add a new issue to implement this.

Editing a note in place is not supported but you can change the body of a note by setting Note.body property. The body should be HTML. See the cli.py. Thus you could grab the old body, modify it and set the body to the new value. Bear in mind that you may lose formatting and you will lose keywords associated with the note if you do this. AppleScript does not support full round-trip of rich text for notes and does not support keywords in notes. This should really only be used for plaintext notes. You may also need manage attachments if you do this.
