The ore accumulation algorithm is not working correctly — ore does not accumulate as intended.

If there is no continuous harvesting by a harvester, the drill produces ore that does not build up and is effectively lost. Only the tiles directly adjacent to the drill get filled, sometimes the second row, and very rarely the third row, but no further. (in this regard, behavior can be very different for unknown reasons)

The ore layer either does not thicken at all or increases extremely slowly. In practice, accumulation stops after the first adjacent row of tiles is filled.

Ore should accumulate continuously as it is being mined by the drill.

I don't quite agree that this is solved. I think it's about something else, the spread radius, whereas here we're talking about the accumulation of a thickening layer and the consistent expansion of the ore field.

I tested this issue a lot a few years ago and tried all these flags but none of them worked.

The drill's work should proceed at the same pace as before, but otherwise, as you said.

But now what's happening is that the drill is working, but the resource doesn't accumulate and simply disappears.

My main idea is to make it so that the ore doesn't disappear.

This problem can be divided into two parts: the fundamental, basic one is to ensure that the resource does not disappear and accumulates, and secondly, how the resource will be distributed is already a question of aesthetics: which tiles will be filled first, in what order the layer will thicken, and so on.

I ran a test and the drill extracts 75 credits worth of ore in one go, which means that the layer on one of the tiles should increase by this amount of money.
One drill operation should increase layer on one tile by 75. Or as an option, when all the tiles are occupied by a thin layer of ore, you can thicken three thin-layer tiles by 25 each

The current situation in the game is that you must very carefully monitor each drill to ensure that ore is constantly being extracted. If a harvester fails to collect ore before the first row around the drill fills up, the player begins to lose money.
This means that each drill must be constantly monitored, and the player who is more efficient at collecting ore consistently earns more income.
Agree that this is terrible. Time should be spent not on gameplay but on ensuring that all harvesters are collecting ore around each drill. Of course, with repairs of harvesters, which will no longer stop, this will be easier. However, you still need to spend a lot of time and attention on this.
If the resource accumulates, the player can rest assured that if a harvester doesn't manage to collect a resource within each minute, they can simply do so later, and the resource won't be lost.
