Working instructions

I've been trying to follow https://github.com/PRTG/JMXMiniProbe/#readme but there seem to be some steps missing. I'm not a Java person at all but can't a file named runJMXMiniProbe or JMXMiniProbe. I really need JMX monitoring and don't want to throw away PRTG for another tool.

As you already suspected, the README is incomplete and even misleading.

Based on the following thread's comments, I was able to work my way from error to error until my Mini Probe was connected to the PRTG:
