Hi OSIPI team,
I'm Shamsul Alam, a GSoC 2026 candidate highly interested in contributing to osipy.
First, I want to sincerely apologize for opening issues and PRs before fully digesting the README—I now completely understand the correct contribution process and will strictly follow it moving forward.
I am very interested in proposing the ASL Quality Control Toolbox as my GSoC project. To give you a brief idea of my technical background and why I am drawn to this specific domain:
Biomedical Research: I am an AI/ML Research Assistant at the AIRIL lab (AIUB), with multiple biomedical imaging papers currently under review in Q1 journals.
Software Engineering: I work professionally as a full-stack Software Engineer at Quilcraft.
Open Source: I am an active contributor to complex TypeScript/Python codebases, including recent feature contributions to Google's official Gemini CLI repository.
Because of my background in handling complex medical data and building scalable software, the ASL QC Toolbox aligns perfectly with my skill set. However, before writing any code or finalizing my proposal, I would love to:
Discuss whether the ASL QC Toolbox aligns with your highest priorities for this summer.
Join the OSIPI Slack to coordinate properly with the mentors.
Could someone please share the Slack workspace invite link so I can introduce myself to the team?
Thank you for your time, your patience, and the incredible work you do on osipy!
Best regards,
Shamsul
