For custom generation configurations, the Calculate generation profiles and nameplate capacity from open cases, aka "combine cases", option only uses Year 1 data when cases to be combined run lifetime simulations. This is because combine cases works by adding up gen from each case, and not all performance models support lifetime simulations (wind, CSP, SWH, etc.)
Combine cases also only works when all cases run hourly simulations. It does not support combining subhourly cases, even if all cases use the same time step.
Consider supporting lifetime and subhourly simulations as we move toward supporting lifetime and subhourly simulations for all performance models.
