That's old hardware and IIRC nVidia 340 has been out of support for years. But this 'waiting for video buffers' just might be related to other puzzling hangups, for example in issue #344. Seems unlikely, but it's an easy test... #344 (comment)

Just tested out enabling Interactive TV but I get the same error message.
Platform: Ubuntu 20.04
MythTV version: 32-fixes
Package version: using mythbuntu/32 ppa
Component: mythfrontend
What steps will reproduce the bug?
Won't play back any recordings
How often does it reproduce? Is there a required condition?
All the time.
What is the expected behaviour?
Videos play back using VDPAU
What do you see instead?
"Decoder timed out waiting for free video buffers."
Additional information
I have the same problems as this forum post.
Upgraded to V32 Getting “Decoder timed out waiting for free video buffers.”
I've got an NVIDIA ION based system running the NVIDIA 340 drivers. Like the forum posts this was working fine in 31-fixes.
Thanks
